The key to successful immigration is often finding the right job.

Our sister employment consulting agency, ODG Recruitment has Employment Consultants based in New Zealand, Australia and Canada. All skills clients requiring a job offer receive a paid Employment Appraisal Report completed by our in-country employment experts at the start of the process to help them plan for their job search.

As a full Migration Bureau client, you will receive the FREE JOBSEEKER PROGRAMME to help kick-start your job search and provide you with expert guidance to point you in the right direction. Although no guarantees can be given, our FREE JOBSEEKER PROGRAMME has proved highly effective in helping many clients in the search for employment in their new country. For details, see below.

Please note: While we will do our utmost to help you in your search for employment, the most important factor in your success will be you. Your active participation - in canvassing employers, and preparing effectively for interviews - will be vital.

When searching for a job overseas, it stands to reason that you cannot be in two places at once. This is the very reason why our sister employment consulting division, ODG Recruitment was established.

We are dedicated to helping prospective immigrants commence the search for employment BEFORE leaving home. We understand that you will want to start earning swiftly upon your arrival and not eat into your precious savings. Therefore, we have created a Jobseeker Programme to help you with one of the most stressful, but important burdens...finding a job.

Although no guarantees of success are given, the programme will be tailored to fit your individual needs, prevailing market conditions and the skill requirements in the country at that particular time.

CREATING CREDIBILITY

One of the main problems faced by applicants for jobs overseas is scepticism. Employers often reject "offshore" applications outright unless introduced by a local agency. Many employers believe that most foreign applicants will never qualify for the necessary residence visas or make the life-changing step of moving overseas. Here you will have a distinct advantage. Participating in the Jobseeker Programme presents evidence to prospective employers that you are serious about your move. An added benefit is that your residence visa application will be processed by the Migration Bureau thus reducing the risk of delay or refusal and in doing so eliminating another major concern for most employers.

We will;

Provide a list of vacancy sources and recruitment agents for you to contact.

Guide you on how to present and prepare yourself for an interview.

Guide you on how to prepare a CV in the style of your destination country.

Provide guidance upon arrival and advice on how to set up interviews.

Provide advice about the local job market in your chosen profession.

You will need to;

Advise us of the specific region/city in which you have chosen to settle.

Liaise directly with employers and recruitment agents that we may recommend in order to
set up interviews.

Be actively involved in the job search process, sending letters of applications to employers and
agents that we may recommend.

Prepare an up-to-date and comprehensive CV in the style used in your destination country.

Consider a visit to attend interviews as some employers do not offer jobs on a “sight unseen” basis (provided you qualify for a visitors visa).

Apply for vacancies no longer than 3 months ahead of a possible start date.

Keep an open mind and be flexible. Don’t expect a job at the same level or salary as in your
home country. You may need to take a step back in order to gain local knowledge and
experience.

OUR FREE JOBSEEKER PROGRAMME
(exclusively for visa processing clients of the Migration Bureau)

HOW DOES IT WORK? - one per application receives the following services to help you to obtain a relevant, qualifying job offer.

As a visa processing client of Migration Bureau, you will be entitled to free enrolment onto the ODG Recruitment "Jobseeker Programme", designed to help kick-start your search for employment in your new country. The Jobseeker Programme includes a maximum of 2 hours of employment consultancy, comprising the following;-

1) Initial Planning Consultation
Our in-country Employment Consultant will discuss with you your job search plans, and provide advice on your CV/resume, approaching local employers, local vacancy sources and interviewing techniques.

2) Online Jobseeker Resource Boards - Destination-specific information on CVs/resumes, local vacancy listings, helpful tips, etc.

3) Pre-arrival Consultation - Our Employment Consultant will contact you again to check your progress and offer further advice on targeting your job search. They will also provide a list of the top internet job boards for you to search for any further relevant vacancies. For this stage, we recommend that you contact us 6 weeks prior to your intended move/visit date.

4) Arrival Assistance - Upon your arrival in your new country, you will receive further guidance on targeting your job search.

All costs associated with your job search or interviews will be your responsibility and it must be you who contacts employers & recruitment agencies, arranges job interviews and secures a job offer.

We will endeavour to provide career guidance, labour market information and general employment advice. We encourage you also to use job vacancy websites. If used correctly, our service can be highly effective in helping you to initiate your job search - provided you are actively involved.
