History of the Migration Bureau
The Migration Bureau was one of the first private migration practices of its type to be established. At the Migration Bureau, we are proud of our history and the firm's unique distinction as a pioneer of the modern day immigration consulting industry.
IMMIGRATION TO AUSTRALIA, NEW ZEALAND & CANADA
Australia, New Zealand and Canada have long attracted skilled workers, qualified professionals and business persons from around the world seeking a better life for themselves and their families. It is widely thought that immigration has built these "new world" lands into the prosperous countries that they are today.
IMMIGRATION AND VISA CONSULTANTS
Increasing competition for a fixed number of places means that the immigration authorities can only approve applicants with the best prepared applications, thus creating the need for independent immigration consultants.
The immigration consulting industry has been formally recognised by the various governments through the creation of professional industry bodies;
- Migration Agents Registration Authority (MARA)
- Migration Institute of Australia (MIA)
- New Zealand - Immigration Advisers Authority (IAA)
- Canadian Society of Immigration Consultants (CSIC)
The Migration Institute of New Zealand (MINZ) was established in 2007 with the aim of promoting objective, positive and proactive discussion and communication over the immigration policy of New Zealand in a way that serves the best interests of all New Zealand, all migrants and the migration industry. MINZ is committed to serving the interests of all regions in New Zealand.
MINZ is a voluntary association and regulation of the industry will be governed by the Immigration Advisers Authority (IAA).
IMMIGRATION POLICY
Today, Australia's immigration policy allows for the granting of up to 152,800 visas per year. Similarly, New Zealand's immigration policy allows for the granting of 50,000 visas per year and Canada's immigration policy allows for the granting of 255,000 visas per year.
Private migration consultants, of which the Migration Bureau is one of the most prominent, now assist a substantial number of approved applicants.
