Minister Bowen today announced the establishment of a new Significant Investment visa for entrepreneurs ready to invest at least $5 million in Australia. This visa will become available during the 2012-2013 program year.
The changes to the roughly 8000 person Business Skills Visa Program also include reducing 13 visa Subclasses to three: the Significant Investment visa; and two Business Innovation and Investment visas, one permanent, the other provisional. The Business Innovation and Investment visa will be integrated into the SkillSelect Model from 1 July.
