SkillSelect - Take Care to Avoid 3 Year Ban
15/03/12

Consider using a MARA Registered Migration agent…..

Here are some important factors to consider if you are thinking of applying under Australia’s new SkillSelect system. Elizabeth Vartanian, Registered Migration Agent (MARN 0801756)  with Migration Bureau says that “under Public Interest Criteria 4020 which will apply to SkillSelect – Australia’s new skilled migration selection process due to be implemented from 1 July 2012 - an application will be refused if bogus or misleading information is provided on the current application or one lodged in the last 12 months and a 3 year ban imposed (unless there are compelling or compassionate circumstances why the visa should be granted). Under Fraud PIC 4020, if one fails all the persons included in that application as dependents also fail. Whilst the Expression of Interest (EOI) is designed to be simple to fill in, take care not to exaggerate qualifications and experience on the EOI and fall victim to the Fraud PIC.”  If in doubt yourself, a MARA Registered Migration Agent such as those at Migration Burea will be able to assist you prepare an EOI and the resulting full visa application and will always work within the law and in your best interests. So the moral of story is to get it right the first time.
